Black Friday Hotel Sales: How to Actually Use Them

Black Friday isn't just for TVs and sweaters. It's also one of the best times of year to book a hotel stay for next year, and most people have no idea.

Hotel sales are starting earlier every year. Last year I saw more pre-Black Friday luxury travel deals than I remember seeing in a long time. Beach, city, domestic, international, you name it. If you already know you want to go somewhere next year, this is the time to book.

The sale I'm most excited about: Rosewood Beyond

Hear me out. If you only use one hotel sale this season, make it this one. Rosewood is one of my favorite hotel brands, and every year they open up a special offer called Rosewood Beyond. It's only available through travel advisors like me, so you can't get it by booking on your own. Last year, so many of my clients used it to book the trips they'd been dreaming about.

Here's how it works this year:

  • 30% off the best available rate at participating Rosewood hotels around the world

  • Plus a special perk at each hotel, which is different at every property

  • Book November 3 to 10, 2026. It's only one week!

  • Travel any time through June 30, 2027. That covers spring break, a winter escape, a babymoon and early summer.

The fine print: Availability and blackout dates apply. Houses, penthouses, villas and apartments aren't included, and a few hotels aren't part of the offer: Rosewood Calistoga, The Chancery Rosewood, Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin, and Rosewood's three New Zealand lodges (Cape Kidnappers, Kauri Cliffs and Matakauri).

A few Rosewood hotels I love:

  • Rosewood Mayakoba, Mexico. One of my favorite places for families. The first time I stayed, a staff member came by my beach chair, put cucumbers on my eyes and gave me a neck massage. Then she cleaned our sunglasses! I still smile thinking about it.

  • Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, Paris. Right on the Place de la Concorde, with one of the most iconic bars in the city. This fall I sent a group of six women here for a girls' trip.

  • The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, New York. Old-school New York at its best. TRUST ME, spring for a high floor so you get the sweeping view of Central Park.

  • Rosewood Miramar Beach, Montecito, California. Right on the sand. A perfect long weekend for couples, and a favorite of mine for a parentmoon.

  • Rosewood Miyakojima, Okinawa, Japan. For a honeymoon or a Japan trip beyond Tokyo and Kyoto. I've sent honeymooners here and they were blown away.

Other hotel sales to watch for

Hotel sales usually come in a few forms:

  • A percentage off the room rate, like Rosewood's 30% this year.

  • Extra nights. Some hotels offer a free night when you book a certain number of nights.

  • Flexible policies. I'm also seeing more flexible cancellation and change policies, so if you're not 100% sure on dates, they can often be adjusted later.

Most of these sales end in early December, usually somewhere between December 2 and December 9 depending on the brand. So if you see one you like, don't wait.

How to actually use a hotel sale

  • Know where you want to go first. A sale is only a deal if it's a trip you'd take anyway. Start with the destination and the dates, then look for a sale that fits.

  • Read the cancellation policy. Some sale rates are prepaid and nonrefundable. Others are flexible. Know which one you're booking.

  • Check the travel dates. Most sales are good for stays during the next year, but many have blackout dates, especially around holidays.

  • Book through an advisor. When you book a hotel through me, there's no planning fee for hotel-only bookings, and you get a real person in your corner if anything goes wrong. For some offers, like Rosewood Beyond, booking through an advisor is the only way to get the rate.
