Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions & Working Together
-
While you certainly can book online, working with a professional gives you three things a search engine can’t: expertise, advocacy, and time. I spend hours vetting properties and stay up-to-date on ever-changing travel regulations so you don't have to. If a flight is canceled or a hotel reservation is lost, you call me instead of waiting on hold with an airline for four hours.
-
I follow a simple four-step process to ensure your trip is seamless:
Discovery: We start with a brief call to discuss your travel style, budget, and "must-haves."
Proposal: I present 2–3 curated itineraries. We refine the one you love until it’s perfect.
Booking: Once approved, I handle all the deposits, reservations, and logistics.
Support: I provide you with a final digital itinerary and remain available for 24/7 support while you are traveling.
-
I charge a professional planning fee starting at $500. This covers my time for research, itinerary design, and concierge support.
Travel Insurance
-
Yes. I highly recommend travel insurance for every client. It doesn't just cover "lost luggage"—it protects your investment against unforeseen medical emergencies, trip interruptions, and cancellations. In a post-pandemic world, it is the best way to ensure you aren't out of pocket if life happens.
-
Ideally, you should purchase insurance within 14 days of your initial deposit. Buying early often qualifies you for "Pre-Existing Condition" waivers and "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) upgrades that may not be available later.
-
While every policy is different, most standard plans cover:
Trip cancellation for covered reasons (illness, injury, etc.).
Emergency medical expenses and evacuation.
Travel delays (reimbursement for meals/hotels).
Baggage loss or delay.
Logistics & Payments
-
To ensure your security, I process your payments directly through the travel supplier (the cruise line, hotel, or tour operator). I will never ask you to Venmo me for your trip costs. Your credit card statement will show the name of the resort or airline you are booking with.
-
Absolutely. During our discovery call, we will discuss a realistic budget for your destination. If your expectations and budget aren't currently aligned, I’ll be honest with you and suggest alternative destinations or travel dates to help you get the most value.
-
I will always advocate for you with the suppliers to minimize fees. However, please note that most airlines and hotels have their own cancellation penalties. This is another reason why travel insurance is so important!
